We have signed up for this every year since my kids were little!  We LOVE the summer reading program the Library has each year!

Read, explore and create this summer to give your brain a boost every day!   I have our sitter set a timer and make the kids either read or work in their summer work books for 30 min a day during the week.  Austin has a 15 chapter book to read this for his school summer reading program,  so he will for sure need that time to read!

All ages are invited to participate, I sign up too!

Stop by any Library location starting June 1 to get your Adventure Kit, which includes:

  • A Summer Adventure passport
  • A free book
  • A voucher for a free view level ticket to a Cincinnati Reds game
  • A Coney Island coupon

The kids love going to the library each week and getting their passport stamped and completing other learning activities all summer long, Each time you check in, you will get a stamp in your passport and a scratch card that will reveal your prize! Weekly check-in starts June 3. At each weekly check in, you will also be entered for a chance to win the Grand Prize, four tickets to Coney Island! Winners will be chosen on August 1.

The Library recommends reading at least 20 minutes each day as part of your Summer Adventure. Each week also has a theme to serve as a guide for fun and engaging activities that encourage learning all summer.

Activity ideas:

  • Attend an event or check out a book at the Library.
  • Make a sculpture, drawing or painting.
  • See a play or puppet show. Or, create your own show!
  • Design a new cover for your favorite book.
  • Visit an art museum and write about your favorite piece of art.
  • Find a book about art or a famous artist at your Library.

Have you participated in this program?   We love that we get REDS tickets, that is a cool incentive in itself!

I was not compensated for this post.  All thoughts and opinions are my own.  Thank you for reading!
