Adventures on the Farm
This summer has been about exploring our wonderful city and trying new experiences. This week we were able to go blueberry picking at the Blooms and Berries Farm in Loveland, Oh. It was quite the experience, I have done strawberry picking in the past with my older child but blueberries were a first. My two-year old is obsessed with blueberries right now or as she loves to refer to them as “berries” in that sweet little voice only toddlers can get away with.
I was quite impressed with the organization and set up of this cute little farm. I was able to reserve a “FREE” ticket on their website and went to the farm at the designated time. The staff was quite helpful..it was a bit of a haul to the blueberry field so thankful I had thought to bring the wagon, my youngest was in the front carrier. Once we made it out to the field they explained how to tell which were the ripe ones and set us up on where to start picking first. All their crops are grown organic no pesticides or chemicals so they encourage tasting of the blueberries, which you can imagine my two-year old was in heaven. They had two different varieties of blueberries to pick from. Once your done picking you can make your way back and have them weighed and then pay for them(prices are included on their website). It was a very enjoyable and smooth outing.
Some other attractions on this farm is their flower shop, they have some beautiful hanging baskets and flowers. They are also opening up their newly constructed market barn this weekend that will be carrying a variety of goods and produce. They also have some very friendly farm animals as well. If you’re looking for a new place to explore and experience a bit of the country I highly recommend them.
