I. LOVE. CRAFTING. I’m kind of obsessed, but given school and life lately, I really haven’t had the time. Luckily, there’s a super fancy subscription that fits perfectly into my budget, and gives me a few different projects to work on.

Recently I was given the opportunity to try out For The Makers, a subscription box that’s created just for the “maker” in all of us. If a subscription box isn’t your thing, you can also shop and order from each collection (box) that they’ve created. The collection I was able to make was called Twist and Shout. I absolutely LOVED all four of the projects included in the box, to the point that I am now absolutely obsessed with the company and their various other collections.

The Twist and Shout collection included materials to make Clink Cocktail Stirrers, a Go-Go Key Pouch, a Single Scoop Bracelet, and a Mini Pop Piñata. All of the items matched in colors, with gold being the consistent color throughout. Peach and lemon were the other featured colors.

The first project I worked on was the bracelet. Everything I needed to complete the project came in the box, with the exception of the pliers. That wasn’t a big deal for me though because I already had everything I needed in my own stockpile. The instructions were incredibly easy to follow, and I really appreciated the step-by-step pictures that went along with them. As soon as I was done, I sent a picture to my entire family, and everybody demanded that I make one for them!

The next project I made was the cocktail stirrers. These were super easy! Everything I needed was in the box, except for scissors, and the directions were right on. I liked that they didn’t tell me how to make four different stirrers. Instead, they showed me how to make one, and the other three designs and patterns were up to me. I will definitely keep this project in mind for my next party!

Next up was the key pouch aka coin purse. This one looks cuter in person because photos don’t do the gold justice. This project required a rotary punch to put the holes in the fabric, and that didn’t come in the box, however, I liked the instructions on this project because they gave you an alternate solution to a rotary punch: scissors. While I didn’t need to use those instructions, I appreciated that they included them because not everybody would have such a random tool at home.

Finally, I made the piñata. I saved this one for last because it was the most time consuming, but it was really cute and fun to make. I filled mine with confetti to match the piñata instead of candy or trinkets. I really liked using the box everything came in as the cardboard for my piñata. I ended up only using half, and could’ve made another if I wanted to. This is really a decoration piece, but just in case the person I give it to feels like opening it, there will be a surprise inside. I’m going to a bachelorette party this weekend, and I know that the bride-to-be will love it. It totally fits her style!

A subscription to For the Makers is $29 per month, but if you don’t want to sign up for a monthly deal, you can buy the collections, or the projects within the collections separately. If you subscribe, you don’t have to worry about shipping because you will receive free shipping on all shop orders. The big seller for me is the jewelry projects that they send out. Creating jewelry is something that I’m interested in, but don’t really know where to get started. For the Makers helps to get me there!
