Timehop just reminded me of a time where I was so down about myself. I was struggling big time with PPD and while I was in love with my little blessing I was having a hard time feeling good about myself. I had gained 60 pounds in my pregnancy and was struggling to find my way back to my pre-pregnancy weight. And even that was unhealthy.
Today, I reflect back to a time where I didn’t think I had enough time for myself. Or made excuses to not have time for myself. Where I struggled to take care of myself.
Now, two kids later, I realize it doesn’t take much time in a day to eat well and get a few mins of exercise in. And I finally feel GOOD in my own skin! I wasn’t obese, but I certainly wasn’t healthy and I FEEL so good that I learned how to take control and get to a healthy place in my life!
This isn’t to toot my own horn.
But I believe there are probably moms, who are struggling with this same feeling, and my hope is that you realize you CAN take time for yourself. I spend about 90% of my day taking care of my family, but I’m still sure to carve out that 10% for myself!! Because a healthy mom = a healthy family 👩👦👭
