I love seeing happiness on my dogs’ faces every time I receive a package in the mail that is addressed to them. Recently they received a package from PupJoy, a subscription box service that caters to your furriest of friends. PupJoy lives by the philosophy of “Treat Better” meaning that every single person and pet that they interact with will be treated the way that they want to be treated. I clearly recall that saying from when I was little, and I still follow it to this day. If a company is committed to treating my girls and I like rock stars, I can commit to allowing them into my home each month for sure!
One of the things that I love about this company is how they allow you to choose what goes inside your monthly box. I don’t mean that you get to pick each toy, treat, and accessory (because where would the fun be in that?), but that you get to tell them all about your dog, and they listen.
First, you choose your box size. You can pick between Uno and Grande, the Uno being best for homes with only one dog, and Grande for homes with multiple dogs (or dogs that like to eat…a lot!). Second, you pick your box type. You can choose to receive boxes with treats only, toys and accessories only, or treats, toys and accessories all in one. I chose combination of all three so that I could get an idea of the types of products the company sends out. Next, you pick your subscription plan. Like most boxes, you can choose a monthly plan or you have the option to choose a 3, 6, or 12 month plan. The prices vary depending on the size of the box you choose, with the Grande box being slightly more expensive than the Uno box. The plans start as low as $23.00 a month. Not bad!
You would think that the questionnaire would stop there, but no, there’s more! PupJoy really wants to make their customers happy, and finding out little details about your dog really sets them apart from other subscription services. The first detail concerned treats. You can choose between gourmet and grain-free gourmet, depending on allergies that your dog(s) may have. While we don’t have any specific food allergies, our girls live a grain-free lifestyle, and this was the obvious choice for us. Not all families want, or care about, grain-free, and to give them a choice is awesome! The next detail concerned collar size. This was really a basic question, but I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been given a collar or clothing item that clearly won’t fit my dogs. Bulldogs are considered medium sized dogs in their height, large dogs in their weight, and extra large dogs in some of their measurements. I mean, if you just ask me their measurements, I can tell you that Dolly’s neck is 19 inches around and Bella’s is 21 inches. Don’t all dog parents know their dog’s body measurements? 😉 Finally, the last detail focused on how your dog treats their toys. Do they respect all of their toys? Do they only cuddle with toys? Or do they rip them to shreds upon receiving them? My answer was the last one, thanks to Dolly.
Right before you check out, PupJoy asks you just a couple more questions about your dog(s). They ask for your pup’s name, birthday, gender, and size. Thankfully, the size options were broken down by weight, otherwise, I would’ve faced the never-ending struggle of trying to determine the company’s definition of medium, large, and extra large. It can be so frustrating! Finally, you hit subscribe.

Sam’s Yams Bichon “Fries” by Front Porch Pets are all natural dental treats made out of sweet potatoes only. To be honest, I was a little hesitant to give these to my girls at first. While Bella isn’t very picky, she still has her moments, and in the past she has avoided coconut and sweet potato like the plague. Dolly has been the same, especially when it comes to sweet potatoes. I went ahead and gave them each a piece and they both loved them! I really loved that they didn’t overload the treats with random ingredients, but instead kept it simple with just a sweet potato cut like crinkle fries.

Lately my husband and I have been on a chia seed kick. We like to find new ways to incorporate chia seeds into the various things we make, especially dessert (chia seed pudding anyone?). When we saw the bag of Nibbles by Lincoln Bark we were both super excited to try them out with our girls! I will say that both Dolly and Bella love duck, and luckily this bag of Nibbles was in their duck flavor. When we offered these treats to the girls, they snatched them out of our hands super fast.

The final item in this box was a collar by Bait Free. I had never heard of Bait Free before receiving the collar, but now that I know what they stand for, I have been spreading the word like crazy! Bait Free is a group that is dedicated to rehabilitating dogs that were used as bait dogs by getting them medical attention and rehoming them to loving families. Bait dogs aren’t limited to a certain breed or size. They could have been stolen from loving families, or brought in through ads that say, “Free to good home”. They could’ve even been taken from puppy mills, where money is all that matters. This company is doing fabulous things in their goal to create a bait free world.
