Recently I was given the opportunity to try out the monthly dog subscription box from True Drool. Boxers test this box before they are sent out to the customers. If you have a dog that loves to rip through toys, this box may be the one for you!
Each month, True Drool will send you 4-7 products that are made in America and are perfect for your pooch. This month, I was sent 5 different products: three treats, a toy, and a grooming/beauty product. My girls and I loved every single product!
The first goodie in the box was Slammin Sammy’s Chicken and Banana jerky treats by Tucker’s. These treats were great! They are made in Wisconsin and each treat is 100% chicken breast smashed together with a banana. I really liked that the treats were individually wrapped too. Whenever we take the girls somewhere, we always bring treats. When we go to our friends houses or our parents’ we like to bring treats that last a bit longer, so the girls can lie down and enjoy them. These treats were perfect for that!
Retail Value: $13.00
Goodie number two was the Rope Scorpion by Mammoth Pet Products. Dolly claimed this toy as her own immediately! She love, love, LOVES rope toys, and this one was super interactive for her. Bella loved this toy too. She threw it around and gnawed on it a bit, but at the end of the day, it went right back to Dolly. Apparently, in a previous True Drool box, there was a bottle of breath mint gel. True Drool gave a great suggestion: add a bit of the gel to the rope toy to boost oral hygiene as your pets play! Great suggestion!
Retail Value: $11.00
Goodie number three was the Bison and Pumpkin treats by Canidae. These were a HUGE hit with my girls. The ingredients were simple, and I loved how they would beg for more after giving them each one. I especially loved that they were grain free, allowing me to be worry free when giving them to my girls.
Retail Value: $10.00
Goodie number four was a stick of rabbit jerky by Hare of the Dog. My girls love jerky. They also love rabbit. It’s not a common protein for them in our household, but when we do have it, we put it in their “special” treat basket (their basket of treats that last a bit longer and that they love the most). I loved that the jerky itself wasn’t too big or too small for my girls.
Retail Value: $4.00
Goodie number five was Paw and Nose Lotion by Burt’s Bees. I love this product! I especially love that I was just talking to my husband about needing to find a good lotion to use on our girls’ noses and paws. What perfect timing! This lotion is great because it’s all natural and made with rosemary, so it smells great. My girls didn’t mind when we put a little on their noses, and they especially didn’t mind when we massaged it into their pads. They are divas!
Retail Value: $12.00
Total retail value: $50.00
Cost of box: $38.00
Total Savings: $12.00 (for the 1-month subscription), $18.00 (for the 3-month subscription)
I would definitely recommend this box! I really liked the variety of products they put inside, and that everything was made in the USA. My girls give this box an A+!
I really like their “Paw-it-Forward” program. You can purchase boxes for $20.00 each, and True Drool will send it home with a pup after being rescued. Isn’t that so sweet?! When I read about this program, I may have shed a tear or two. True Drool also gives back 10% to rescues and non-profits!
