As many of you saw from my posts this weekend, we went on our annual Fall Halloween Campout! We typically go camping 2X a year, once in the fall and once in the spring. We have been trying out a new campground every time. This year we went to East Fork. This campground by far had the best camp sites we have ever had. All the picnic table and fire pits on the one side in the back of the woods behind our campers. We really lucked out. If you camp with camping experts like we do… you have a dining hall tent!
We typically do some sort of pot luck amongst all the families camping. Friday night is always Scott’s famous pulled pork. Saturday, we did a ton of yummy appetizers while the football games were on during the day, after our walk exploring the lake that morning. We did Skyline Chili for dinner after trick or treating.
This year I wanted to do a Fun Fall Dessert. I saw this adorable pumpkin shaped cake at Kroger in the bakery section, and since Ava is obsessed with all things Pumpkin Spice, I asked them if they could make one for me with the limited-edition Whipped Pumpkin Spice flavored icing!
If you have been to any of my family Birthday Parties or Celebrations or read my posts about them, you would know we always have cupcake cakes from a local grocery store like Kroger and we ALWAYS have WHIPPED ICING on them! Honestly, I would LOVE to be your favorite ‘Pinterest Perfect’ mom, making everything from scratch…but that’s not my reality. Everyone is always surprised, asking me “Where did you get your cake? What kind of icing is this?”
Everyone loved it! Did you know that whipped icing comes in all the on-trend seasonal flavors? Talk to your local Kroger bakery to see what they have available. (This Pumpkin Spice Whipped Icing is available now through mid-November.)
With its creamy texture and impeccably balanced sweetness, whipped icing is the perfect, better-for-you choice for any occasion that calls for cake. It brings out the best of what cakes and desserts have to offer with no greasy coating or gritty aftertaste.
Whipped icing also has less sugar and fewer calories than heavier Buttercream icing! It also does not have trans-fat, allowing for guilt-free indulgence!
Choosing from an exclusive variety of popular flavors lets you customize your cakes and take cake options to the next level, making special celebrations even more memorable. There’s the traditional flavors of Chocolate, Vanilla, Strawberry, Lemon, Cream Cheese, etc., but there’s also S’mores, Sea Salt Caramel, and limited-edition Pumpkin Spice which all sound perfect for a fall season cake!
