When planning your vacations this year don’t forget about Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Park™ Camp – Resort of Mammoth Cave!
We had a GREAT time there last summer! Kay the owner of Jellystone really rolled out the red carpet for us! My family stayed in one of the Brand New Bluegrass Cabins with a Golf Cart. The Cabin was sparkling clean and just enough space for the four of us. It had a full bathroom with a shower head that you would not believe, a full kitchen, flat screen TV, brand new Queen Sized pillow top mattress and pillows. It had a loft for the kids (you can not stand fully up) with two double mattresses. They thought that was cool to have their own place!
I had went over the list of activities before we got there and marked off everything I thought we would like to do:
Yes I am one of those people! I drive my husband crazy! Although, I think he secretly likes it!
When we got there Thursday, we unpacked, explored the camp ground, went on the HEY HEY ride (they have one every night), met Cindi Bear. ordered Pizza from the campground pizza place: Hunt Brothers Pizza(it was good!).
After dinner we went up to the Main Lodge for Movie night! We played games, shopped in the gift shop, and Ava checked out a book to read for the weekend from their collection. The staff is very accommodating and very nice!
Friday, we got up and watched cartoons and ate breakfast. Cincinnati is an hour behind so we were getting up at 6AM there!! We raised the Flag with BOO BOO Bear. We did a fun FREE craft right after raising the flag and then played on the play set. After that we left and headed to our FIRST Cave Adventure at Hidden River Cave and American Cave Museum – you can read more about that here. We then headed to Mammoth Cave Adventures to Zip line for the FIRST time EVER! You can read more about that here!
After our day full of adventure, we came back swam, played in the splash park, road the water slide, and road the HEY HEY Ride again this time with Yogi Bear. We grilled out dinner and then did the jump pillow. The jump pillow is really FUN even for adults!! Of course we had a campfire with s’mores to end the night!
Saturday, we hit up the all you can eat waffle breakfast at the main cabin. I have to say I was very impressed with the waffles . They had the waffles ready for you to eat. Not like a hotel where you all stand by the waffle iron waiting in line! They were the BIG thick waffles too! Then we headed out to our next Cave adventure at Lost River Cave for the only Underground Cave Boat Tour! You can read more about that here! We also explored Dinosaur World! You can read more about that here!
After another full day of adventures! We headed back to the campground to swim and a water balloon fight! The Camp ground has a really cool water balloon launching inflatable! Make sure you bring water balloons! We celebrated Grayson’s 4th birthday with dinner and we decorated cupcakes for dessert! We ended the night with a campfire that Grayson made!
It was a great weekend! I know I will never forget it and I am sure the kids will remember it fondly as
I remember all my camping trips as a child!
